Did anybody expect abc News to produce a 2-hour prime-time film about the end of civilization? Uh, not me.
But they did, and it showed last night. Read about it here. Click HERE for the landing page that will let you watch lots of video. The thrust of the piece was environmentalism, but whether you like the conclusion or not, the facts presented are staggering.
Um, is anybody else getting a weird feeling?
Does anybody really believe that humanity has the wherewithal to change its course, deny itself, and sacrifice pleasure for the good of those who come behind us? Really?
ReplyDeletei watched about 10 minutes of this the other night while I was flossing, and my thoughts were almost exactly the same as above, AND THE BIGGEST TO ME WAS, "is everyone seeing this? even non-believers seeing a potentially devestating ending coming!"
ReplyDelete10 MINUTES of FLOSSING?
ReplyDeleteWow. Dental health city!
well, not really 10 minutes flossing, i got sucked in WHILE flossing, then watched for 30 seconds while I used mouth wash, then stayed on until the commercial...
ReplyDeleteGo here and click 12 minutes. The View is talking about End Times!!! http://abc.go.com/player/index?pn=index&showId=167365
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed!!!
aaahmmm, i should have clairified, my wife clued me into this; i was not at home today and if i was, i would not be watching The View. i am kinda jacked up that she's starting to notice this stuff though, very cool for me.
ReplyDeleteI missed this, maybe because I'm bad about flossing, and maybe because ABC didn't promote this with the veracity of NBC and "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here" show. Sadly, I think that show is just as indicative of things.
ReplyDeleteCan I confess that I did a very selfish thing and did the math in my head and thought, well by 2100 I'll be long gone? Well, I recognize I didn't do that, but a spirit of selfishness and self-preservation did. Blah. I repent of that for sure.
Anyways, I was skimming through some user comments on the ABC sites. Lots of denial, accusation and fear.
On a side note, our garden is loving all this rain, and I should have enough tomatoes and beans to support several people in the coming summer.
Bret - Will you be my gardening consultant? I have done a lot of reading, but I need an experienced person to come over and give their input for my unique yard. I'm not afraid of failing, BUT, i want to have the best chance to succeed, and make all this work rewarding, especially with my son. Are you in? What I can offer in return is words of affirmation for your great work and marketing :=)
